With summer on the way, Magnum ice-cream has made it easy to claim your spot on the beach with their line of oversized beach towels made from 100% sustainably sourced cotton.
Part of a collaboration with charity 100WEEKS, all proceeds from the sale of the towels will be donated to support women in cocoa communities. The towels are luxe in look and feel allowing you to comfortably enjoy the pleasure of being outdoors this Summer while keeping your distance.
Designed by Australian artist Karan Singh, along with Quentin Monge, and David Vanadia, each of the towels draw inspiration from Magnum ice cream’s iconic silhouette and come in cobalt blue and golden orange. Magnum’s latest collaboration with iconic artists is part of its long heritage of working with established and emerging creative disruptors to bring beautiful pieces of art to life.
Karan Singh said of his work on this special project with Magnum, “It’s been an interesting process to create work for an object which serves a new purpose as life has changed. I enjoy creating art for pieces which serve a function and am looking forward to seeing how these will be used, and how they might help us all socialise safely.”
Globally, Magnum has also pledged to donate an additional $400,000 (AUD) to 100WEEKS to provide female cocoa farmers with a two-year unconditional cash transfer, and training in entrepreneurship and skills to generate additional income.
Jeroen de Lange, co-founder from Magnum’s charity partner 100WEEKS said, “People living in extreme poverty often face multiple challenges including inadequate nutrition, problems with mental wellbeing and limited access to education for their children. All of these issues can be alleviated through cash transfers. The funding provided by Magnum allows them to take a break from the daily struggle for survival and focus on establishing stable livelihoods”.
With summer around the corner and only 250 towels being released in Australia, the newly created line will be in high demand. Available now, the towels can be purchased for $50 and purchasers will also receive a unique code to redeem a free Magnum pint via ‘The Dessert Store’ on UberEats.
